Lip names: what each style means.

Russian lips usually means more upper-lip height. Cherry lips means a rounder centre. Cupid's bow lips puts the focus on the two upper peaks, while natural lip enhancement describes a smaller change to the shape you already have. These are style names used by clinics, not standard treatment plans.

Use this glossary to compare all nine looks. Each page explains the name, shows an illustration and demo frames, and identifies its sources. Keyhole, heart-shaped and butterfly descriptions overlap or conflict; doll lips and bow-tie lips are search or marketing labels. A provider must assess your lips before advising on treatment.

Russian lips

Height and a lifted Cupid's bow rather than forward pout — taller from the front, flatter from the side.

Cherry lips

Soft, rounded fullness in the centre of both lips, with the corners left quiet.

Keyhole lips

A small gap kept open between the lips at rest, with fullness around it; sources disagree on where the filler goes.

Heart-shaped lips

A deeper Cupid's bow dip with lifted peaks, so the upper lip carries the shape; a name other looks also claim.

Cupid's bow lips

A small, targeted sharpening of the two peaks of the upper lip, with little added volume.

Butterfly lips

A name with two opposite meanings: a central lift into a heart shape, or width fanning out toward the corners.

Doll lips

A marketing name for cherry-style central fullness plus a strong Cupid's bow, not a technique of its own.

Natural lip enhancement

A small amount of soft filler in the body of the lip, so your lips look like your own, slightly fuller.
