Liply vs LookPrep

Liply is the closest neighbour in this whole comparison set. It is not a makeup filter with a lip slider bolted on; it is a consumer treatment-preview app that exists for the same reason LookPrep does, which is that people want to see something before they book it.

App Store distribution gives Liply familiar Apple billing, subscription management in Settings and an Apple refund-request process, subject to eligibility. Its privacy label is supplied by the developer and says no data is collected; Apple explicitly says it has not verified that information. Those are useful things to review before uploading a face photo or subscribing, rather than an independent guarantee about privacy.

Liply covers four treatment categories and advertises unlimited previews. The US listing offers a $29.99 yearly subscription alongside weekly and monthly options, while its public terms currently describe the weekly subscription. Check the selected plan in the app. For someone exploring several cosmetic changes over time, subscription access may be better value than separate purchases.

LookPrep does one treatment area and publishes the vocabulary for it. Liply's lip output is described in intensity terms — subtle, or fuller and plumper. LookPrep's is described the way a consultation is: a named look, a product family, and an amount.

That means eight filler options across the Juvederm, Restylane, RHA and Revanesse families with selectable amounts from 0.3 mL to 3.0 mL, and a ninth option that is not filler at all — a lip flip in 4 or 6 units of neurotoxin, kept separate because it everts the upper lip rather than adding volume. Naming those families is nominative reference for approximation only; none of their manufacturers is affiliated with LookPrep or endorses it.

LookPrep also grades its own labels. Russian, cupid's bow definition and natural enhancement are graded well-defined with cited sources. Cherry, keyhole, heart-shaped and butterfly are marked contested, because clinical and trade sources describe materially different results under the same name, so they are not presented as one definite outcome. Doll lips is labelled a marketing term. Neither product decides anything clinical: a qualified injector's read of your anatomy outranks either preview.

Liply's own framing is the fairest description of the split. Its terms put it in the entertainment and visualization category and state plainly that it is not a medical application. LookPrep aims one rung further along the same road: not a medical prediction either, but a planning visual built to be carried into a consultation and pointed at.

So the honest question is not which app is better. It is which moment you are in. Browsing several possible changes to your face is Liply's moment. Having settled on lips and needing to say what you want out loud is LookPrep's.

Liply's privacy policy says photos are sent to OpenAI's image API. It claims no training use and zero retention. We could not independently verify its retention configuration: OpenAI documents default abuse-monitoring retention of up to 30 days, with special controls and exceptions. Liply's App Store privacy label is developer-reported, not verified by Apple.

LookPrep gates generation behind an 18-plus confirmation and a recorded photo-processing consent event, states that uploaded faces are not used to train LookPrep models, keeps images only for recovery, share pages, purchase support and abuse prevention, and accepts deletion requests for account data, session data, stored images and share pages. Share pages stay private until you publish them.

Two details are worth checking before you spend. The App Store page reviewed on 6 October 2026 lists version 1.0.2, dated 26 January, with Lia as a first-run assistant. Liply's site says it is free to try but publishes no free-preview allowance. Downloading for free does not establish how many previews are available before payment.

On the other side, LookPrep has no live camera, no video, and no way to preview anything that is not lips. If what you actually want is to turn your head and watch a shape move, neither this page nor LookPrep is the answer.

These are US storefront listings. Liply's public terms describe a weekly auto-renewing subscription, while the App Store also lists monthly and yearly options. Check the billing period, local price and trial terms in the app. Liply says to cancel at least 24 hours before renewal; refunds are subject to Apple's approval.
