YouCam Makeup offers a broad set of beauty-editing tools in one app. Perfect Corp. reports a community of 300+ million users, while the US App Store shows 4.7 stars from 155,000 ratings. Its live camera is a useful starting point if you want to explore the appearance of fuller lips before choosing a still image to discuss.

The lip tooling goes beyond one slider. Perfect Corp.’s guides describe Lip Plumper for fullness and Lip Reshape for size, width, height and cupid’s-bow shape, with upper and lower lip adjustments also described. Lip Color offers 100+ shades and seven lipstick textures, while Lip Wrinkle smooths lip texture in photos.

A live camera also offers something a still-image preview cannot. Perfect Corp. says its lip filter lets you view the effect from different angles and save a photo or video. This is a moving cosmetic edit, not evidence of how an actual treatment would look when you speak or smile.

LookPrep is not a camera and not an editor. It takes one uploaded photo in a browser and renders the named lip looks you picked, side by side, so you leave with a comparison set rather than one edited selfie.

The difference that matters is vocabulary. Every look is attached to a treatment and an amount: eight filler options across the Juvederm, Restylane, RHA and Revanesse families, with selectable amounts from 0.3 mL to 3.0 mL, and a ninth option, a lip flip measured in 4 or 6 units of neurotoxin because it everts the upper lip rather than adding volume.

It also publishes how sure it is. Each look carries a standardization grade with cited sources: Russian, cupid's bow definition and natural enhancement are graded well-defined; cherry, keyhole, heart-shaped and butterfly are marked contested and not published as definite outcomes; doll lips is labelled a marketing term. The output is a planning visual, not a medical prediction.

A lipstick-and-reshape filter answers “how would this look on me right now.” A treatment preview answers “what do I ask an injector for.” Those are different questions, and the tool that answers one is under no obligation to answer the other.

A live-camera edit can help you explore whether you like a fuller-lip aesthetic as you turn your head. The free tools provide a low-cost place to start, although paid features and usage limits can vary. If you like an effect, the next step is discussing that preference with a qualified injector.

A description such as “a bit more, but natural” can mean different things to different people. A reference image can make that discussion more concrete. Neither product decides anything medical: an injector’s assessment of your own anatomy takes priority over either preview.

This comparison covers the YouCam Makeup app and YouCam Online Editor. Perfect Corp. also offers a separate clinic-facing aesthetic simulator whose page discusses filler brands and Botox lip flips. The consumer tools are themselves marketed as lip filler simulators, but the reviewed guides do not document treatment-brand or dose selection.

Their words for the consumer tools: the in-app one is “Lip Plumper”, and the web one is marketed as an “AI Lip Filler Filter”.

Perfect Corp.’s June 2026 privacy notice describes mostly on-device facial processing, with exceptions including emailed photos retained for up to three years, cloud-processed photos deleted after use, and consent-based generative-AI models retained for up to one year. The web editor’s specific terms separately allow uploaded AI-tool inputs to remain for up to seven days, and outputs for up to seven days or while an account remains active, depending on the tool. Its App Store disclosure lists photos or videos as potentially linked to your identity.

LookPrep uploads by design, so it says what happens next: an 18+ gate and recorded photo-processing consent before anything generates, “We do not use uploaded faces to train LookPrep models”, images kept only for recovery, share pages and abuse prevention, and deletion requestable at /delete-data.
