Where Makeover shines
Makeover's lip filler preview is built for the person holding the syringe. Its page names the users as “Injecting RNs, NPs, PAs, and physicians”, running it themselves mid-consult on the same tablet they use for clinical photos. Step 03 is “Present it before you draw up the syringe.”
That placement buys presence. When the image lands, a licensed clinician is in the room, so an expectation formed from someone else's photo gets corrected in the same minute, by a person who is qualified and liable. It sets the preview beside the patient's own reference photo, so the conversation moves to what her vermillion border and lip-to-chin ratio support.
- Controlled capture: “lips relaxed, neutral expression, taken under your normal treatment-room lighting”. Consistent light, distance and pose remove most of the variance a face render inherits.
- No handoff. Preview, price, booking and treatment can happen in one visit with one person, and a build can be embedded on the practice's website.
- Restraint on purpose. Asked whether it will show an overfilled or “duck lip” result, the FAQ answers “No”, saying the model is calibrated to conservative, proportion-respecting hyaluronic acid outcomes.
- Clinical judgment stays in the loop: on migrated filler, the FAQ says the image “isn't a substitute for your clinical judgment on whether dissolving is needed first”.

Where LookPrep is different
LookPrep serves a different hour of the same decision: a $19 web purchase made by the person considering treatment, used before a clinic has been chosen and often before anyone else has been told. Upload a photo, pick looks and amounts, pay, and carry the set into whichever consultation gets booked.
The vocabulary differs because the reader differs. Makeover thinks in landmarks and a volume band; LookPrep thinks in the names people type. Four looks are published as pages — Russian lips, cherry lips, cupid's bow definition, natural enhancement — while keyhole, heart-shaped and butterfly are marked contested and doll lips is labelled a marketing term. Every style carries a standardization grade and cited sources.

This is the fact that decides most of the page, and it is not a criticism — it is who RaftLabs sells to. As served on 18 August 2026, makeover.so has no login, no signup, no app and no checkout, and every call to action is a button reading “Talk to Our Team”.
There is nothing to sign up for because there is no single product: the pricing page says every build is custom software tuned to one industry, with off-the-shelf plans listed as “None — every build is bespoke to your business.” Makeover's blog, asked whether a lip filler simulator is free, tells patients to ask their injector. LookPrep sits at the other end: a public price and no gatekeeper.

Landmarks and a volume band, or named looks and dose ladders
Makeover renders volume consistent with a stated hyaluronic acid amount, “typically 0.5mL to 1mL”, preserving the patient's vermillion border, cupid's bow and lip-to-chin ratio rather than a generic plumped-lip effect. What it does not do is name looks: a search of its lip, home and use-cases pages on 18 August 2026 returned no Russian lips, cherry lips, heart-shaped or keyhole. Its unit is the landmark and the millilitre.
For a clinician that is arguably the right unit. Makeover's baseline build generates one optimized preview level, and comparing a half syringe against a full one is scoped into a build. LookPrep ships the ladder by default, because working through amounts is what a person does before booking. Neither set of numbers is a dose recommendation.

This one is easy to get wrong, so state it precisely. Makeover's lip filler preview is “built for HA filler volume, not a neuromodulator lip flip”, and a flip-aware version can be scoped into a build. But Makeover does preview lip flips: its separate neurotoxin page lists a lip flip among the zones it covers. The accurate statement is that the flip lives under the neurotoxin product, not that Makeover cannot show one. LookPrep keeps both together, so 4 units and 0.5 mL sit in one set.
