LookPrep vs ChatGPT and Gemini

This page treats ChatGPT and Gemini as one thing, because for lips they are one thing: the instinct to open an app you already have and type 'make my lips look like I had filler'. Both will. OpenAI's App Store listing describes generating images from a description 'or transform existing ones with a few simple words', and Google markets 'Make impossible selfies with Gemini'. Nothing on the vendor pages we read stops you editing your own face.

They are good at it in ways a single-purpose tool is not, because the prompt box has no catalogue in it: hair, brows, makeup, an outfit, a different city behind you, all in one thread, refined by replying 'softer'. Google's Nano Banana Pro page describes blending up to 14 images, holding the resemblance of up to five people, and control over camera angle, focus and lighting.

The money argument is theirs outright. Google lists a free plan at $0/month with a Google Account and puts 'Image generation and editing' on it, and many people already pay $19.99/month for ChatGPT Plus or Google AI Pro anyway. Against a subscription you already hold, the marginal cost is zero. LookPrep's $19 is a new spend.

LookPrep is not trying to be an image editor. It does one job: return a small set of named lip looks at stated amounts, built to be opened in front of an injector. Eight looks ship with it, four published as their own pages and four graded by the product as contested or marketing labels. Lips and lip flip only: no makeup, no hair, no live camera, no video.

The amounts are the part a prompt box has no way to carry. Nine treatments hold real selectable values: 0.55 to 2.0 mL on Juvederm Volbella XC, 0.5 to 3.0 mL on Juvederm Ultra XC, 0.3 to 2.8 mL on RHA Redensity. Lip flip sits on a different scale entirely, 4 or 6 units of botulinum toxin type A for subtle upper-lip eversion without adding filler volume.

The set holds together because everything comes back on the photo you uploaded, in one comparison you can save. A general image model makes no equivalent commitment: OpenAI's published parameter lists for image generation and edits contain no seed and no reproducibility control, and its own image guide notes the model can struggle to hold visual consistency for recurring characters. Run the same prompt twice and you get two different faces: fine for a picture, unhelpful for holding 0.5 mL against 1.0 mL on the same face.

Both vendors steer away from clinical framing too: OpenAI's Model Spec tells the assistant to inform without giving definitive advice best left to a licensed professional, and Google's use policy bars misleading claims of health expertise. LookPrep does not assess candidacy or recommend a dose either. Nobody here is a clinician.

Ask a general image model for fuller lips and it returns a picture of a wish: your face, plausibly changed, in the direction of the words you typed. On Gemini's free tier that costs nothing, and it is often the right thing to have. What it does not carry is a number. Only one of the two answers the question an injector asks, which is how much.

Google publishes more detail here than most consumer products: a subset of chats is reviewed by humans, including Google's trained service providers, images can be part of that, and chats selected for review are retained for up to three years. With Keep Activity on, images in prompts are used to improve Google services, including training generative AI models; the controls are Keep Activity off, temporary chats, and auto-delete at 3, 18 or 36 months, with 18 the default.

OpenAI's consumer position sits on pages we could not read on 2026-08-18, so check those directly. LookPrep's own privacy page says: 'We do not use uploaded faces to train LookPrep models.' Share pages stay private until explicitly published, and stored image objects can be deleted through /delete-data.

On 2026-08-18 openai.com itself returned a bot challenge to automated fetches, so nothing here is quoted from openai.com: the OpenAI prices and quotes come from its own US App Store listing and its developer documentation. No official ChatGPT web tier names or web prices appear on this page, and no per-tier image cap is printed for either product, because the ChatGPT figures in circulation are community estimates and Google publishes only relative multipliers.
