LookPrep vs Crisalix for lips

Crisalix does something LookPrep does not attempt: it reconstructs a three-dimensional model of you. Three ordinary photos, no scanner, and it has a mesh it can deform in volume — so the result turns. You can check the profile and the three-quarter, and Crisalix carries that into virtual and augmented reality. A photo-based preview shows one viewpoint, and one viewpoint is genuinely less information.

The breadth is not close either. Its face simulator has six sections — Cheeks, Chin, Injectables, Facelift, Lips and Nose — and injectables run across 21 zones, from forehead lines to jawline and chin. Beyond the face it simulates breast augmentation, reduction, lift and reconstruction, plus abdominoplasty, liposuction and buttock procedures. If your question is bigger than your lips, Crisalix has an answer and LookPrep has none.

On the clinic rail a licensed person is driving: the professional terms require a fully licensed physician or aesthetic professional. That matters more than the graphics, because whoever moves the slider can feel your tissue and tell you no. The simulation sits inside a working practice too — patient database, 3D videoconferencing, booking, surveys, and a clinic-branded patient app you can reopen before treatment day.

LookPrep answers one question and stops: which named lip look do you want, and roughly what does it cost in millilitres. It is built for the weeks before you book anything — the evenings spent scrolling saved photos, working out whether the thing you keep liking is Russian lips or a cupid's bow that has simply been defined.

That is why the vocabulary is different. LookPrep works in the units the invoice is written in: Juvéderm Volbella XC at 0.55, 1.0, 1.5 or 2.0 mL, Restylane Kysse from 0.5 to 2.0 mL, RHA Redensity from 0.3 to 2.8 mL. Product families are reference points, never recommendations — LookPrep is independent of Allergan, Galderma, Revance and Prollenium.

The lip flip is kept separate for the same reason: 4 or 6 units rather than millilitres, for subtle upper-lip eversion without added filler volume. Each look also carries a standardization grade, and three — keyhole, heart-shaped and butterfly — are graded contested and deliberately not shown as a definite outcome. Publishing which of your own looks are shaky is the honest version of a shape menu.

Comparison pages often assume Crisalix is reachable only through a surgeon. That is not accurate. Its homepage sells straight to patients: sign up, upload three photos, and make a one-off payment from 24 EUR or 44 USD depending on region, with price varying by procedure (fetched 18 Aug & 7 Sep 2026).

So both are things a person can buy alone, at night, without telling anybody. The line between them is stage and scope, not access. Almost everything Crisalix sells around the simulation — patient database, booking, videoconferencing, review management — is consultation machinery. LookPrep's centre of gravity is the fortnight before you book.

Crisalix's injectables documentation describes intensity as per-area sliders displayed as percentages across 21 zones. No millilitres, no syringe counts. Its lips menu holds six presets, named exactly — Cherry, Flower, Heart, Natural, Rounded and Russian — adjusted by volume, height, width, contour and hydration. Pages in this category like to claim their product is the only one naming lip shapes; that claim would be false here.

LookPrep names eight looks and keeps going into product family and millilitres. Russian, cherry, cupid's bow definition and natural enhancement are graded well-defined; keyhole, heart-shaped and butterfly are graded contested; doll lips is flagged as a marketing label. They are technique-and-placement labels approximated by a treatment and an amount. Neither tool decides anything: LookPrep does not assess candidacy, prescribe a product or recommend a dose.

Crisalix's patient terms state that its 3D images "are for visualization and illustrative purposes only, and are not a substitute for a consultation with a qualified physician", and that final results "may vary significantly". Its community page repeats the point.

LookPrep takes the same position in its own words. Neither predicts your medical result. That is worth knowing, because a disclaimer on a $19 lip preview is sometimes read as a hedge, and here the established clinical platform in the category writes the identical caveat into its terms. Neither replaces an assessment by a qualified injector.
